29/12/2010. Teal and Shelduck

New and disappointing visit to the lagoons. This will remove one of the win but, well, there must be constant as far as possible.
are at the top of water and do not understand that there is nothing, but nothing, nothing but a group of 39 teal occupied the only place where there was no ice. It is incredible to have ice when the temperature is 7 ° C. I suppose it's due to frost a few days ago that should be here terrible to life with such a high temperature for dates. Leave a picture of the common teal.
also had a couple of azulones and I heard a coot who should move between the reeds, because I have not seen.
For there has been a peregrine falcon pitting numerous thrushes had today. This is the first time I see pilgrim here.
As thrushes, the most abundant were the talks, as usual here. But I also saw common thrushes, and best, a real thrasher grupete, 17 EJS. There has been an important input to this species in Spain and I was slow to see the first. Leave a testimonial. Comment it

information boards have been placed in the two observatories fauna, very nice, but they are worth little if not well managed place to see all these species. Moreover, as the birds chosen to illustrate this, I think on some and missing others much more significant. It is what it is not consulting ...

And a couple of pictures for you to see the status of one of the gaps. Amazing that they are so lifeless right?
Happy New Year 2011.

Thomson Viper Filmstream Camera For Sale

PROCESSING A HIGH ISOS. Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) to 1250 ISO

time ago I uploaded a photo to my gallery Fotonatura a wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) to a fairly high iso (1250), and were several colleagues who asked me about that image processing.
So as promised I have some steps to follow when processing images with isos high, usually from 400ISO.

Please note that this form of processing is best suited to my specific computer (Nikon D300), not sure if other cameras would be better to follow another procedure.
not try to teach the best way to do it (sure could be improved still many things) but that is what I will better myself.

· The first is to disable the noise reduction of the camera (This is best done in PS). Other settings to your liking.
In my case the image control (based on standard mode) I have it as follows when:
Sharpness
8
Contrast -1 Brightness 0
+1 saturation

It's like maybe I will, but as you know if you shoot in RAW these settings can be done a posteriori. Like the white balance, although I prefer to do it at the time of the taking and so I ahorrro these adjustments on the computer.

The measurement of light in very high iso shots is very important, especially not to underexpose the making as this would generate excessive noise.
I try to stick to measure, but as a partner account Juan Aragonés in his excellent blog, if a tad overexposed even decreases a little noise in the shot. This also is not possible contention and argument, the sensors of digital cameras contain much more information in the light (right side of histogram) than in the shadows.
But I who am a bit vague at the time of processing the photos I prefer to set both the exposure and save me then correct the overexposed white.

After a long time mulling over the issue of different programs I prefer the combination of Capture NX and PS, and Neat plugin to reduce image noise. Is what best results me. Although Capture NX is very slow!

Well, based on these assumptions, ... go to the mess!

· Here we see the original image and no adjustments or prosecuted:

You see that this size is not much noise problem, is appreciated something in the background.

But if we see a 100% crop the picture changes:

Typically, as in this case is that much more noise evident in the background, to be more homogeneous (mostly) and being less enlightened.
In the plumage of the bird (with many more textures than the background) is much less noticeable.

started:

· Open the image in PS, adjust levels, saturation, etc (in this case only a slight saturation adjustment), the noise reduction and Unsharp Mask is best applied at the end of processing.

The best solution to get the highest possible quality of the image is reduced only the background noise and give a wee bit of unsharp mask to the wren.

· Make a selection of bird and the landlord (who are not going to apply noise reduction). It should be as precise as possible (although in this case I is not, to save some time), and fit nicely into the contour of the bird. A 800px is invaluable if we are not very accurate, but if we make an extension ...
Then invert the selection so that the filter only applies to the fund:

· Open the menu "Filter" and select the plugin Neat image:

· We see the following table:

· First adjust the square you see in the image on a piece of the fund to take a sample of the type of noise you have to delete.
Click on "auto profile" (above left. Marked with the number 1 in red), takes seconds to do the process. I usually always use it, but I really have not noticed differences skipping this step.

I like the default settings you have the plugin, so normally do not play anything. But if the iso, as in this case, is very high, I go a little adjustment percentage "Noise reduction Amounts Y" (marked with the number 2 in red), and adjusted for the amount of noise, can reach up to 100%, provided that the selection was nearly perfect (if not be noticed too in the shape of the bird).
In this case I think I got 80%.

we click "apply" and poof! already have the image without that annoying background noise:

Not bothered me a lot in making the selection is clearly seen in that area has applied the filter, but if You take a little while you do it well is perfect.

And it would be more or less and noise processing. A bit of saturation if necessary and you only have to save the image in JPG or TIFF.

I tell you what I do for the images I upload to Fotonatura, after much trtastear is the best result for me, and the loss of quality when compressing is minimal:

· First, if like me procesais image in the wider color profile (Adobe RGB), we convert it to sRGB, which is the color profile in which they work most Internet browsers, and so we will see the image of the same PS way and then internet (same colors):

And now there is give the output size. The tool "save for web and devices" works very well, and makes only compression without quality loss.

If the image size is very large we see a warning box:

But what I tried not affect the final quality, only slightly slows the process of reducing image size. Highlight your

to continue and see this other table:

( 1) As select "Bicubic Sharper" and adjust the image size to 800px wide .

( 2) Adjust the Quality slider to the size in Kb that we want (bottom left), in this case just under 200Kb, the maximum for FN.

Process finished. These are the steps I follow to process an image to be uploaded to the web.

I leave wren image processed even slightly larger pair that you see the final result after processing it in PS following the steps I told you about these lines.

ISO 1250, F7.1, 1 / 80

Finally some examples even more extreme in worse light conditions:

ISO 2000, F9, 1 / 60
Group cattle egret photographed in La Janda (Cádiz) during the postnuptial step.
The sun had set a few minutes ago and the sky was tinged with pink. At this time began to pass side and had to force the ISO to get a lot of translating the time.

ISO 3200, F4, 1 / 50
This
Robin is at the limit of my camera isos,
but as you see it as a spare for upload
sizes tend to allow photo sites.

Y. .. nothing more ... hope you have served for something this "mini-tutorials."

How Upconverting Dvd Players Work

real thrushes and gray plover 2009

good quotes I have received two gaps that occurred in 2009. Its author is Francisco Ramón Balaguer, who visits the lagoons from time to time.
In one of these visits, the May 16, 2009, could make two good observations and, moreover, complete with photos. The first is a copy of Shelduck. This species is considered to be introduced in our country, although there is a small wild population in the eastern islands of the Canaries. You can see quite easily in various parts of Morocco and other North African sites. In short, although its origin is almost 90% domestic, we must give him the benefit of the doubt. Here let a great photo.

But that is not all on the same day as noted in this specimen in breeding plumage of gray plover. Until now and if anyone says otherwise, is the first and only event known to the wetland. Plovers was in great company, as he says.

Moncho To thank you for submitting these wonderful comments. Eva

Vintage Stereo Receivers.

C. Material

I've updated the calendar of events to the 2011 season. The Long Distance is provisional as there is evidence still to be confirmed, but is usually quite reliable, since the main tests are usually very stable from year to year. The FETRI is still the short one which is already confirmed. And I've added links in Triathlon Valladolid, http://www.devalladolid.webcindario.com/ web. Which will be published all the evidence of our community as confirmed.

How To Retrieve A Lock Combination

11/11/2010. 21/10/2010

data Juarros sends me a visit today morning with lots of birds, not of species. The facts are these:
- Over 240 common geese. The maximum number recorded here so far.
- A grupote of lapwings
- Shoveler
- Teal
- Tufted Duck
And the grebes and coots on the water. For around a pair of kites, crows, finches, etc ...
says that this is only what has been seen from observatories and that between this afternoon or tomorrow will review the south of the lagoons.

Blueprint Measurements

stupid thing. Reed Bunting

Since I started going through the lagoons have always thought that there is a species that deserves special attention and, therefore, the wetland as well. This is the reed bunting, a small passerine who visit in winter come from central and northern Europe. In Spain there are some small spots where it reproduces, but very, very low.
On day 21, a new visit to atarceder, I saw my first swamp of the year. I also saw a lot. Oídan is everywhere and, as you walked along the gaps, the claim was constant. I think with the flags there this year, the winter can be tremendous. I could make some pictures to this one, a short but to the light ...
The other birds seen were:
- big Sandpiper: 1 ej.
- Common Snipe: 1 ej.
- Heron: 1 ej.
- Lapwing: a large group northwest of the gaps in a freshly tilled field. EJS 481 Conté. but would probably have well over 500 and that, in my position could not be all.
- Teal: 3 EJS. (1 m. and 2 pm)

- Water Pipit: 2 EJS. first to see this winter as well.

addition, azulones, common coots and grebes. In the grove surrounding a multitude of birds with: chiffchaff, blackcap, blue tit, great tit, several species of finches (common bunting, goldfinch, chaffinch, linnet and serin), robin, song thrush (very abundant) and thrush Charlo, Cirl Bunting and match, woodpecker, stock dove and wood pigeon. Photo of two of the latter.

As prey: Buzzard, kestrel, red kite (2) and hen harrier (1 m ad.).
The shores of the lakes common with hundreds of pipits and dozens of white laundry.

Funny Freshman Sayings

arrive 07/10/2010. 18/09/2010

Source Courtesy of Unai Gómez we have an interesting observation on 7th October.
turns out that late in the afternoon there were 4 copies of black storks were preparing to spend the night in the lagoon complex. Them could be number of pictures in which, however, only 3 out of 4 copies.
the second date is known for the species, after the two that I could see myself in late August 2009.
addition, other interesting species seen that day apart from coots, grebes azulones and cites a sandpiper large as 12 great blue herons (I think that record for the wetland). One of them, of course, eating a vole, so we know they are fed here in the absence of fish. Just thank Unai
sending photos and quotes.

Should I Sell Or Keep My Mutual Funds

Four black storks. 24/08/2010

Revisiting the evening this time with my wife Cristina (amateur and tired) and my little, Diego (which with nearly 19 months and loves going to the field), ah, and our tyke Muma! a female English Water Dog.
I will not discuss the status of the wetland because I've already said several times: poor access, poor management, people coming to the banks (not talking about the lake enabled for that matter), etc ... Directly
this is what had to be more interesting:
- Harrier: 1 adult male.
- Heron. 1 ej. adult
- Little Egret: 4 EJS. two adults and two young, so I guess a family group. Were all afternoon until nightfall almost took a southerly direction after tracing out the gaps.

- Common Sandpiper, several EJS.
- big Sandpiper: 2 EJS.
- Sandpiper Bastard: 1 ej. jov. After the tremendous step that was last year, this is my only observation this year.
- Fighter: 1 young male. This species shows very little in the province.
- Lapwing, a group of about 30 EJS. my first year.
- Pipit: A group of about 10 EJS. Also my first observation of the year.
- Wagtail: a large group that flew up at sunset.
And a multitude of common coots and grebes.
's it.

Point And Shoot With Low Iso

natural Spot Playa de los Lances (Tarifa)

This summer I enjoyed part of my vacation in Tarifa (Cádiz). A good place to combine beach, sun and photography.
is in a prime location for bird watching, for being the closest point to the African continent many species choose it as a stopover on their annual migrations.

There are several beaches where you can see different species of shorebirds and seabirds, some residents and others in passing. The Lances of one of them, considered natural landscape. a huge beach, several kilometers long and over 200m wide in many places. Has a observatory and a designated route for bird watching, adapted for people with reduced mobility.
is packed with kite-surfers, but tend not to disturb the birds, which often roam far from water in the puddles are formed at high tide.
Not many swimmers as due to strong winds, almost constant, it is uncomfortable to be with towels, umbrella, etc..

went with the idea of \u200b\u200bphotographing common tern, little tern and gull Audouin, that what he had read were common species in the area. Gulls went over there, the terns were eventually Plover nor had nothing. Of course there were other species tridactyle sandpiper, common ringed plover, egrets, ...
Spend two mornings. The first day dawned cloudy and sunny second, so I could get varieties of lights.
The most difficult were the approaches, because although I did not need camouflage, the birds showed suspicious, and I had to earn confidence based on patience, moving very slowly sat on the sand.
